Dreamed I was on a houseboat. The boat was large, with 3 or 4 families living on board. Most of the people were adults but I walked toward the back and found a couple of 5 year old girls playing on the floor. They told me “Go look at the bathroom.” I stepped into the bathroom and found the toilet filled to the brim with poop. It was almost overflowing. How, I asked myself, could such little girls produce so much stuff? I flushed the toilet and all the poop went away, but within seconds it returned, coming back up the pipes. I flushed again, and it all came back, repeatedly, and I noticed that with each flush the poop gradually turned into sausages. The dreams ends with a toilet full of hearty tubes of meat, and with me thinking “So that’s how they make sausage.”

I do not think I have seen an exchange name in the wild which uses a 3-letter code. All the other names I have in my collection have but 2 letters. I spotted this HAVemeyer exchange name in Glendale on September 4, 2010. This medallion is affixed to a metal door on a sidewalk, and it advertises the Charles Hoelzer Iron Works company in Maspeth. The Charles Hoelzer Iron Works is going strong decades since telephone exchange names were phased out and generations since this metal placard was affixed to a door on a Glendale sidewalk. The company's phone number remains the same, though in today's code it would be (718) 424-9436.

This is my first sighting of a DAvenport telephone exchange. In fact, it was my first sighting of any exchange name in several months. I spotted this one on August 8, 2010. DAvenport was a Maspeth exchange name but this sign was seen on a fence in Astoria.

AStoria.8-5791. This old phone number is seen outside a dentist's office in upper Astoria. I imagine that most of the patients who visit this office are unaware what AS.8-5791 means.
