������������������ GLASS PAVER FLOOR SYSTEM
PART 1� GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
��� A.� Glass paver floor system, consisting of structural extruded aluminum grid and glass pavers, and with all other items necessary for a complete assembly.
1.2 RELATED SECTIONS
��� A.� Section 03300 - Concrete structure and slabs.
��� B.� Section 07900 - Sealant installation requirements.
1.3 REFERENCES
��� A.� ASTM B 221 - Standard Specification for Aluminum and Aluminum-Alloy Extruded Bars, Rods, Wire, Shapes, and Tubes.
1.4 SUBMITTALS
��� A.� Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
��� B.� Product Data:� For both grid system and glass paver.� Indicate materials, sizes, shapes, thicknesses, and finishes.� Include installation and assembly instructions.
��� C.� Shop Drawings:� Show methods of construction, location and spacing of anchors, and relationship to adjoining work.
1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
��� A.� Store materials in dry place, off the ground, where temperature will not exceed 90 degrees F.
��� B.� Handle material in manner that will prevent damage to finished surfaces.� Do not install scratched or damaged components.
1.6 WARRANTY
��� A.� Provide manufacturer's standard 5-year warranty.
��� B.� Provide 5-year installer's warranty against faulty workmanship.
PART 2� PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURERS
��� A.� Glass Block Support Grid:� Provide "IBP Glass Block Grid System" manufactured by Innovative Building Products, Inc., 2917 W. 7th Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
��� B.� Glass Pavers:� Provide products manufactured by one of the following:
������� 1.� Pittsburgh Corning Corp.
������� 2.� Westerwald Glasstein (Solaris).
������� 3.� Glashaus Inc. (Weck).
������� 4.� L.E. Smith.
������� 5.� Circle Redmont.
2.2 MATERIALS
��� A.� Glass Block Support Grid:� Field assembled, extruded aluminum two-way hollow structural grid, sized to fit glass pavers with one paver to a module, and perimeter frame.
������� 1.� Aluminum:� 6063-T6 alloy.
������� 2.� Finish:� Clear anodized matte finish.
��� B.� Glass Pavers:� Solid glass units, nominal 6 inches by 6 inches by 1 inch thick.
������� 1.� Pattern:� ___________.
������� 2.� Color:� Clear.
������� 3.� Color:� __________.
��� C.� Paver Boots:� Molded EPDM sleeve and setting accessory
��� D.� Sealant:� Dow Corning Corp. "TradeMate" glass block sealant.
��� E.� Accessories:� Provide all sealants, flashings, anchors, fasteners, and other items necessary for complete installation.
PART 3� EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
��� A.� Verify applicable field dimensions and adjust as necessary to accommodate frame.
��� B.� Examine supporting structure and correct any conditions which are not in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions or approved shop drawings.
3.2 INSTALLATION
��� A.� Install grid system and glass pavers according to manufacturer's instructions.
��� B.� Set grid frame so that top surface of grid and pavers is flush with adjoining floor surfaces, unless otherwise indicated.
��� C.� Insert paver units into paver boots and set in grid modules.
��� D.� See Section 07900 for sealant installation requirements.
��� E.� Apply sealant around exterior face of glass pavers completely filling channel.� Tool sealant flush with surface.
��� F.� Seal joints between grid members.
��� G.� Apply sealant between perimeter frame and adjoining construction.
3.3 CLEANING
��� A.� Clean exposed surfaces of aluminum grid with clean, soft cloth and mild hand soap using gentle rubbing action.� Do not use abrasive or solvent type cleaners, detergents, or paint removers.
��� B.� Remove labels from glass pavers and clean with soft cloth and water.
3.4 PROTECTION
��� A.� After installation, protect installed work from damage caused by subsequent operations at project site.
