Sealbrite insulated plastic skylight domes are factory bonded to flat architectural standing seam roof panels used on the balance of the project.� Some minor rib configurations also can be accommodated.� Contact your Sequentia representative before selecting a structural standing seam roof panel system to assure compatibility with the Sealbrite daylighting technique.

1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

��� C.� Total Imposed Load (ASTM # 330):� 0.85 inch deflection, no failure at 120 psf (5-foot purlins).

 

��� D.� Uplift (ASTM E 330):� 0.060 inch deflection, no failure at 60 psf (5-foot purlins).

PART 2� PRODUCTS

 

2.1 MANUFACTURER

2.2 FABRICATED UNITS

 

��� A.� "Sealbrite" insulated plastic domes, factory-bonded to architectural metal roof panels.

 

2.3 MATERIALS

Select either acrylic or polycarbonate domes, below.

��� A.� Acrylic plastic:

������� 1.� Flame spread (ASTM E 84):� 140.

������� 2.� Smoke developed (ASTM E 84):� 385.

������� 3.� Burning rate (ASTM D 635):� Less than 1.5 inches per minute.

������� 4.� Ignition point (ASTM D 1929):� 750 deg. F.

������� 5.� R-value of dome:� 2.5.

������� 6.� Glazing class (UBC Std. 52-4):� CC 2.

 

��� B.� Polycarbonate plastic.

Delete colors, below, that are not required.

��� C.� Color:� Clear.

������� 1.� Light transmission (ASTM D 1003):� 85%.

 

��� D.� Color:� White.

������� 1.� Light transmission (ASTM D 1003):� 52%.

 

��� E.� Color:� Gray.

������� 1.� Light transmission (ASTM D 1003):� 26%.

 

��� F.� Color:� Bronze.

������� 1.� Light transmission (ASTM D 1003):� 25%.

 

2.4 FABRICATION

 

��� A.� Fabricate domes in sizes indicated.

Maximum opening size is shown below.� Edit if other opening sizes are required.

 

Panels must be between 16 and 24 inches wide, and 5 and 40 feet in length.� Standard 10 foot panels are preferred.

������� 1.� Opening size:� 11 x 48 inches.

 

��� B.� Form insulated domes with interior dome and exterior dome encapsulating dead air space.

 

��� C.� Bond domes under factory conditions to metal roof panels specified elsewhere in Division 7.

������� 1.� Seal domes to metal roof panels.

������� 2.� Provide weep path.

������� 3.� Secure with chemically bonded anodized aluminum retainer.

 

 

PART 3� EXECUTION

 

3.1 EXAMINATION

 

��� A.� Verify that construction is completed, approved, and ready to receive roof panels.

 

��� B.� Correct any deficiencies before installing panels.

 

3.2 INSTALLATION

 

��� A.� Lay out domed roof panels in accordance with approved drawings.

 

��� B.� Install panels in accordance with panel installation requirements specified elsewhere in Division 7.

 

3.3 ADJUST AND CLEAN

 

��� A.� Remove scraps and debris from the project site, and leave in clean condition.
