1.3 SUBMITTALS
��� A.� Product Data:� Submit for each type of fixture specified, including fixture and trim, fittings, accessories construction details, dimensions of components, and finishes.
��� B.� Color Samples:� Provide 6 inch square samples of selected fixture colors and exposed finish components.
��� C.� Installation Procedures:� Submit manufacturer's installation procedures for information only.
��� D.� Owner's Instructions:� Provide Home Owner's Manual, with copy of installation procedures, for each fixture type and living unit, for delivery to Owner.
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
��� A.� Codes and Standards:� Comply with the following, except where requirements are exceeded by applicable building codes, these specifications, or other contract documents:
������� 1.� Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) -� "Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities"; Friday, July 26, 1991; and revisions and additions.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
��� A.� Deliver fixtures in manufacturer's protective packing and covering.� Inspect units at delivery.� Do not accept damaged unit.
��� B.� Store fixtures on elevated platforms in a dry location.
1.6 WARRANTY
��� A.� Finish� Warranty:� Provide manufacturer's limited warranty for freedom from defects of materials and manufacturing, as follows:

2.4 FABRICATION
��� A.� Reinforcing:� Provide fabric and chopped fiberglass at drains, supplies, deck lip, walls, flanges, and stress areas.
��� B.� Wood Blocking:� 1 x 3 inch pine.
��� C.� Structural Spacer:� Fabric backed balsa wood segments.
��� D.� Factory-installed flashing:� Fiberglass bonded and reinforced.
��� E.� Provide fixtures and trim, fittings, other components, and supports as specified in fixture data sheets.
PART 3� EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
��� A.� Examine roughing‑in for potable cold water and hot water supplies and soil, waste, and vent piping systems to verify actual locations of piping connections prior to installing fixtures.
��� B.� Examine walls, floors, and cabinets for suitable conditions where fixtures are to be installed.
��� C.� Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2 PREPARATION
��� A.� Water Testing:� Before installing fixture unit support unit with temporary blocking and framing and test for watertightness, electrical functions, and functions of mechanical equipment.
3.3 INSTALLATION
��� A.� Blocking and Framing:� Provide blocking and framing recommended by manufacturer and required for support of fixtures.
��� B.� Install fixtures and specified components, in accordance with designations and locations required.
3.4 INSTALLATION OF FIXTURES
��� A.� Flashing:� Provide flashing to prevent water seeping behind units framed into wall pockets.
��� B.� Install fixtures level and plumb, in accordance with fixture manufacturers' written installation instructions, roughing‑in drawings, and referenced standards.
������� 1.� Seal mating surfaces of two and three piece units and shower door assemblies with silicone sealant in accordance with manufacturer's instructions so sealant is not visible in finished installation.
��� C.� Fasten fixtures to reinforcement built into walls.� Provide base support for units and never provide sole support of fixtures from flanges.�
��� D.� Fasten wall‑mounted fittings to reinforcement built into walls.
��� E.� Set shower base in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
��� F.� Whirlpool:
������� 1.� Access:� Provide minimum of 14" by 14" clear opening accessibility for service of pump and whirlpool units.
������� 2.� Electrical:
����������� a.� Controls:� Locate timer controls so they cannot be reached while standing in unit.
����������� b.� Grounding:� Provide 120 volt, 20 amp, 60 hertz circuit, properly grounded, with ground fault circuit interrupter for Class A shock hazard.
3.5 CONNECTIONS
��� A.� Piping installation requirements are specified in other sections of Division 15.� The drawings indicate general arrangement of piping, fittings, and specialties.� Connect fixtures to piping in accordance with requirements in Section 15410.
3.6 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
��� A.� Inspect each installed fixture for damage.� Replace damaged fixtures and components.
��� B.� Test fixtures to demonstrate proper operation upon completion of installation and after units are water pressurized.� Replace malfunctioning fixtures and components, then retest.� Repeat procedure until all units operate properly.
3.7 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
��� A.� Operate and adjust faucets and controls.� Replace damaged and malfunctioning fixtures, fittings, and controls.
3.8 PROTECTION
��� A.� Provide protective covering for installed fixtures and keep units free from debris.
��� B.� Do not allow use of fixtures for temporary facilities.
