These pictures seem to be from soon before I moved out of room 317. I remember being in this room and having no television when Operation Desert Storm started in January, 1991. A month or so later my mother sent this black and white television. I never saw one moment of the Gulf War as it famously unfolded on television.

This little television had come in handy back in Florida, where lightning strikes caused power surges that blew up our televisions, lamps, and potentially anything else that was plugged into the wall.
