50-Foot Obelisk With Statue Representing Peace

Atop the 50-foot high granite obelisk is a bronze statue representing peace. The obelisk was sculpted by Daniel Draddy and Maurice J. Power in 1866, and donated to the city of New York by Mayor John T. Hoffman (1866-68) and the Board of Aldermen.
