Zincer. Flushing Cemetery, Queens

A "zincer" is a grave marker made mostly of zinc. In their day these markers were called a "poor man's mausoleum," but the irony is that these monuments made of cheaper materials have outlasted other more expensive markers made of stone and other materials that deteriorate quickly.
