Donald M. Garvelmann

Don Garvelmann was one of the first friends I made in New York. Our shared interest in obscure piano music (by composers such as Kaikhoshru Sorabji and Andrew Violette) made for many lengthy conversations about composers, pianists, and the changing world of classical piano music. Don had a wide circle of friends and I was among many who gathered at his funeral in August, 2001.
