Sometimes when you look closely at a sign you can see that the current place of business laid its name on top of the previous occupant's name. Why is this BOWL sign interesting? Because there has not been a bowling alley at this location for over 10 years. Located on Broadway near Crescent Street in Astoria, the bowling alley was located in a basement space that has since been converted to a recording studio. The recording studio opened years ago but this sign remains.
