Now I'm senselessly considering moving to another city. Chicago seems nice. I could find a job in London.
Naah. I'll never leave this town when all I know of Queens is what I see from the cars that take me to the airports, and when all I know of Brooklyn is the bridge that takes you there. Wait. Oh, none of that is true. Hey, I almost had my head squished by the right rear tire of a stationwagon in Queens; used to play chess in Brooklyn. One night a guy took me move-by-move through a famous chess match: the one for which Bobby Fischer won the Genius Award. I was tingling all over when it erupted the way it did. Haven't been to Brooklyn lately, though; used to go out to Woodside almost every night, playing piano for a production of Annie that ended up paying about 50 day. |
