Weapon I just discovered what I would do if someone tried to break into this apartment. I would leap from my chair and run to the door and attack the intruder with a screwdriver.

I know this, because a moment ago I was sitting here and there was a snapping sound at the door to this apartment. Electricians were coming in and out of here all day, and this sounded exactly like the sound they made when coming in and out of here. But it is now 8:00 at night, and the door is locked, and there will be no more electricians today, and I'm still shaking from the panic that just thrilled me so.

I've been through this type of nonsense before

It was an umbrella that fell down and caused the noise.
