Deeply glad that there are other people out there who appreciate that quote from "Damage" as much as I do. It's from Josephine Hart's novel (and later movie). I based a good deal of my graduate thesis on it.

"I have told you in order to issue a warning. Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive."

"All damaged people are dangerous. Survival makes them so."

"Why?"

"Because they have no pity. They know others can survive as they did."

Thinking Pete is very lucky to have concerned Jim for a friend..wishing Pete good health...wondering if being unsure about how or what one is feeling is a sign that he may actually feel more for me than he lets on or cares to admit or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Dont matter either way...the fact of the matter is that feeling happy when your with someone is by no means a crime. Its a gift. Why feelings exist in the first place is a total no-answer question. Just go with it, feel it, enjoy it, cherish it and most of all, share those feelings with the one who cares so deeply for you. You only live once....dont worry about why, worry about doing what makes you happy. Thats my Dr.Ruth lecture for the day.

Dani, you see, Pete is the ONLY friend of mine in the area who also happens to be gay. I have many gay friends who are all long distance. It's so NICE to have someone nearby to talk with and meet for a movie now and again. I've only met him once in person, yet I have been out of sorts all day worrying. I finally found his home number and got his answering machine. You know how when there are a lot of messages already there and the beep before you leave your message is real long? Well that's how it was. Kinda weird. I'm hoping, I'm severely overreacting and that he's just been busy at work with his trainee, and has not had time to jump on to the net. Also hoping he doesn't think I'm a loony for acting so concerned.

doing a little saturday surfing over coffee before I take on the afternoon. It seems to me that people like Franklin and June are occupational hazards of sites like this. They only use their computers for "business" and seem to have a superstition that anyone who would post on a site like this is escaping from reality or avoiding real life. I met a woman at party last week - an ad exec or something like that - who gave me the same J&F spiel. I found out later from her husband that she is usually painfully shy (she was toasted) and is never that gregarious. I wonder if J&F are just friendless. Anyway I like this place, I can vent here in a public forum and I feel better. Now I'm gonna go have some real fun.My favorite words are carpe and diem.

Thinking that "Franklin&June" might be one person - 1/2 man and 1/2 woman. Remember how you used to see those people who dressed as both, split right down the middle? So if you so either profile, you'd think you were seeing either a man or a woman. When you saw that person head-on however, you would see both. HaHaHa...eh, nevermind...
