back from ignoring the outside world.

had to go to Stevens point to do this (or Point Place for you "That 70's Show" fanatics). Amazingly, had only one beer while I was there. Played four player Goldeneye. I had never evenplayed the game before. I managed to take out three people. I think I was taken out at least 150 times. This is why I don't waste money on video games.

So, anyway, has NYC burned yet? I assume it hasn't, which is something to be thankful for.

TRYING......to read the prologue to Zarathustra and listen to 'Trane's OHM at the same time.

next to impossible

Today my week old request was filled....

next, it's Lou Reed's Metal Machine MUsic.....all 4sides of the double album set.....

this amuses me. not only is the music outta sight, Elvin Jones being one of my favorite drummers...but to think of the various ding dongs out there, who don't understand or appreciate this music....to see the shrill in their eyes....like finger nails and chalk boards....imagine peeling each one of your finger nails off, the WHOLE thing.....with a pair of pliers. THATS is what this music is to me. Somewhat sadistic i know.

My band, befoer we moved, once got drunk one sunday afternoon, and played the college radio's local music show...in a similar fashion. Complete with bizarre and manic tape loops, random moog expressions by yours truly in addition to some cymbal work.....we had no plan, no interest, no motive other than to appease our buzz, and make a few schmucks in their cars or at home rethink they way they view music and order.

if you think about experimental music, albums like the aforementioned, Lou Reed's, Mile's Bitches Brew and On the Corner, The Dream Syndicate, Tony Conrad, John Cale and John Cage......it seems so ahead of it's time, EVEN TODAY.....with the exception of some very rare japanese music....such as the Boredoms....very little of this organized chaos is available.......

wednesday is my day off, usually. it snowed last night; i'm going to let the geese out to forage, call dear Gwen to see if she is ok (i had a very very very bad dream in which she shot herself in the head), figure out what to wear down into the funerary cave tomorrow, try to eradicate all smart-ass thoughts from my head, as my first year evaluation interview is scheduled for thursday afternoon.

there are at least three ganders trying to mate this year. i cannot tell if the less aggressive birds are younger ganders-in-waiting or if they are females or if they are pacifists for ethical reasons. i know there will be hundreds of ova to find and remove. Lucy is still the reigning matriarch, but there is one white goose, new this year, at whom the big guys are leering suggestively. she is bonded to a female African friend, but she has made a nest. wait and see. Lame Duck is in full breeding plumage, strutting circles around his six hens. hey, last year he couldnt't even waddle. now he is a high stepper with an emerald iridescent head, flashy white wing patches, and that anxious look in his black eyes. there are weasels. the hens will have sex with each other if he isn't available. the nesting space is spread out so he has to continually make the rounds to monitor everyone if they are brooding. if males are hatched, he has to decide whether or not to get rid of them. what's not to worry?

the daffies are blooming; i'm so ready for spring. lots of projects down at the plant; they assign me all the cases no one else wants to work with.

And I wonder, still I wonder who'll stop the rain?

Caught up in the fable I watched the tower grow.
Five Year Plans and New Deals wrapped in golden chains.

And I wonder, still I wonder who'll stop the rain?

Heard the singers playing. How we cheered for more.
Crowd had rushed together tryin' to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin', fallin' on my ears.

And I wonder, still I wonder who'll stop the rain?
