Seems an appropriate thing to do for the Spring Fertility Festival (easter to most folks).
The etymology of easter comes from Astarte, a middle eastern fertility goddess. I love in a sardonic way all the pagan trappings that modern Christians (probably unconsciously) include in their religious holidays - eggs, rabbits, pine trees with lights. Not to mention all the Christian holidays that happen to coincide with old pagan ones (xmas, Easter, All Saints Day). It's really amazing how the two big events in Jesus' life that people celebrate just happened to fall on pagan holidays. That guy must have been a scheduling wiz.

Daniel SSSS. is:
- actually it was the Emperor Aurelian in 274 AD who moved the birth of Jesus (from a historical July date) to December to coincide with the festival of the Sun. You can compare the stories of Tammuz (Mesopotamia), Attis (Asia Minor), Apollo and Dionysus (Greece), Mithras (Rome), and Baal (Palestine) all born at the time of the winter solstice and having profound effect on the development of the story of the birth of Christ.
Easter, well that's another story ... but one of the very few Christian celebrations whose timing is still tied to the phases of the moon.

my recipe is much different from the original. keep cut white onions in a coffee can with a little coffee in it. even though the onions are wrapped, they get infused with a subtle coffee taste and aroma. slather two slices of bread (french bread is good) with tangy mayonaisse and layer onion slices on one side. sprinkle with celery salt.
have it with a beer.

What looked like large tree tunks, except with out branches and drooping to the side, surrounded me. A dark valley was ahead of me, and a vast plain behind. What seemed to be insects the size of Labrador Retrievers scuttled about, chunks of the ground in their mandibles. A vague agricultural smell hung in the air. Then it struck me.

they stick this pipe up your ass and start pumping the very same milky white stuff into your bowels.
then they tell you to hold it in best you can while they manipulate you all over the table.
but the best you can, you know, it just isn't as good as you'd like.
then you do a penguin walk over to the toilet and paint the bowl.
it is pretty fucking nasty.
the upper GI you just lay there and suck barium milkshake through a straw. it's really not that bad.
but you shit white after that.
