just biked in to the office for two purposes: One, to pick up my cell phone which I had left here earlier, and two, to see how long it would take me to get here. About 20 minutes. However, when I got here I was (and am) sweating like only a human can sweat, which makes me think that biking into work may have to wait til the fall so as not to stink up my work clothes.

Spent another weekend watching movies, as usual. Saw "The Mummy Returns" which was a fun movie, but ultimately forgetable. Nice to see it on a big screen and such and really cool FX, though, and the air conditioning was key. I also caught a tribute of sorts to Stanley Kubrick in the movie, if you can believe it. Watch closely the scene where the pygmy mummies are falling off the log bridge and you'll see what I mean.

Then I went to the new Family Video that just opened up the block. FV is great for its eclectic selection (17 ninja titles alone)although there are some weird omissions, such as the lack of copies of Blue Velvet or Repo Man, or Decline and Fall of the Western Empire. So, I rented Scary Movie, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Reminded me of Airplane! I also rented Election, which was excellent.

I am wondering when Requiem for a Dream comes out though. Seems like it should be available already. I am also thinking that it would sure be nice to have someone to watch these movies with, too.

5/6/2001, 3:50 PM
Skooter is:
Hey Se, Requiem comes out at the end of the month I think, and you might be able to the NC-17 version, but not at Blockbuster. I didn't like Scary Movie at all, it was way crass. You have to watch Quills, when it comes out. It is really incredible.
