- I'm so sorry about your cat Dougie. My mother seems to be getting better, today I'm going to be given her power of attorney,I think she know's what's up more than she lets on,she has never been the type to deal with things, always better to put things off on me.She has almost $200.000 just in her savings account, which disqualifies her for a lot health care programs for long term care, not to mention she could have been doing something with that money instead of sitting in a bank making 2 or 3% interest. The sad thing is ,most of her health problems are her own doing, her insurance plan would't pay the full amount for her oxygen, and she never liked being on it anyway so she had them take it away, and lied to me and said her Dr. didn't think she needed it.She starved herself, got mad when I hooked her up for meals on wheels and quit taking the meals,it seems the only thing she can focus on is bitching about all these problems she has because she is so miserly.Sat. was Jonathons birthday, didn't get to see him, today is Orion's first, haven't seen him in over a month,I wish Amee had never came back here, same shit, different year. Now my mother wants to live with me,is that some fresh hell or what?Don't hold me to this, but I may quit drinking for awhile,if I can.

My ma tells me that I even pronounced the R correctly -- that kind of rolling of the R but not quite. I don't believe her. But that was shortlived, because the babysitter moved to Greece with her husband. I've seen pix of her -- she was hot. I love how that word feels in your mouth when you say it, Vendange. She may be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She may be the song the summer sings
May be the chill the autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day
She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
The smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem inside her shell
She who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so crowded and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She may be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
But I'll remember till the day I die
She may be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough in many years
Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is she
She
She

- Entering this post:
Eight years ago today, Bill Hicks left the planet.
I still remember reading the Washington Post obit section and finding the write-up. If memory serves, it appeared about 3-4 days after Bill's actual demise.
One consolation is that, as with so many great artists, Bill has become even more popular after his death.
His words and reputation have spread far and wide. For many of us, he has increased our understanding of how life works on this planet, and he has given us hope of a better tomorrow. His comedy continues to resonate with the American psyche, especially amongst the significant minority who actually think, instead of reacting and consuming.
It is true, as Bill said, that those who try to help us get killed while the little demons run amuck. The list
goes back as far as recorded history. "Shut him up! Shut him up! I got a lot of money invested in this
ride!" But it could be said that we were blessed for having Bill with us for 32 (almost 33) years. And
in that time, he gave us much. And I, for one, am thankful.
R.I.P., Mr. Hicks.
