Today was a weird day. Yesterday I took a nap that lasted for 10 hours, followed by a couple of hours putzing around and 5 more hours sleep. Went to a "performance" by some folks I used to know years ago. It was sort of what I should have expected. An even older former friend turns out to be hooking up with one of these folks, and he now has my email address. But... I've moved on... haven't I? How about you? I wanted to say.

When you stay in the same place, this is what you can expect, though, right?

so here's the context-- when i lived in new york, i knew this guy who used to be a d-cep out of brooklyn back in the 80's. at first he thought his ill behavior was the natural result of growing up in an ill environment-- but then things took a turn for the worse-- he was diagnosed as schizophrenic. around the same time, reagan cut funding for programs that support the mentally ill in NYC-- so no meds.
he's a pretty laid back guy-- but he gets caught up in emotional loops that trigger crazy anger.

crazy anger is the worst anger out there.

after seeing one of these bouts while hanging out, i went home and wrote this song that kind of summarizes our conversation:

just got back from my maiden voyage on my new 2010 16' Key Largo Center Console boat, with a 50 HP Yamaha. Beautiful day out there, albeit nippy, but I'm really happy. Thing's as smooth as silk, and it was so great to be out on the water again in my own boat.

I've been making cookies,lots and lots of cookies.Cut out cookies,rum balls,almond cookies,peanut butter cookies with a miniature reese cup in the middle,and cream cheese and pecan cookies.I'm my own cookie exchange! I don't know why exactly but I'm excited for Christmas this year,my tree has been up since the Sat. after Thanksgiving and it's beautiful and all my presents are wrapped.I think I got some good presents for the little ones and I can't wait to see their faces when they open them.I wish Mark Thomas and all you sorabjites a Merry Christmas!
